Meet the founders
Rabbi Hillel Kapenstein
Originally from Atlanta, Rabbi Hillel Kapenstein is the Director of the Columbus Community Kollel and co-founder of MY-YAN. He studied at Beis Medrash Maayan HaTorah in Lakewood, the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem under Rabbi Yosef Elefant, and Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore. Rabbi Kapenstein is a graduate of the Ner LeElef Fellowship and completed YEUD Marriage Training. He hosts the KOLOT Podcast and is passionate about helping young adults build meaningful Jewish lives, strong relationships, and lasting connections to Torah and community throughout Columbus.
Mrs. Rivky Kapenstein
Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, Mrs. Rivky Kapenstein studied at B’nos Chana Seminary in Israel and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Touro University. She began her career at ArtScroll/Mesorah Publications before moving to Columbus with her family in 2016. Rivky is a full-time outreach educator at the Columbus Community Kollel and is passionate about one-on-one learning, mentorship, hospitality, and creating meaningful Jewish relationships and experiences throughout the community.
